Cottage Wines
Heather and Ray Bartsch have been vignerons
/ viticulturalists for 19 years at Eden Valley, and in 1990 they
decided to start producing some of their own wine
The property is situated 2 kilometres east of the town of Eden
Valley at 460 M above sea level.
The land was settled by Gottfried Hartwig in 1860 and being
direct descendants, they have a depth of knowledge of the region.
The vines are mature and the wine produced in the past has consistently
won medals, especially the chardonnay and shiraz.
In 1989 Heather and Ray restored a pug cottage in the Barossa
Valley, where Heather operates her retail quilting business. The
position was ideal for the marketing of wine, so QUILTS and WINE
now form a unique combination
